Telugu film industry shines with 7 National Awards

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) Telangana Cinematography Minister Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy expressed happiness over the Telugu film industry securing seven awards at the 71st National Film Awards, calling it a proud moment for the state and a reflection of the industry’s growing creative strength.

In a statement here on Friday, the Minister congratulated Balakrishna’s Bhagavant Kesari for being named the Best Telugu Film and lauded lyricist Kasarla Shyam for winning the National Award for his soulful songs in Balagam, which captured the essence of rural Telangana.

He also noted the achievements of films Baby and Hanuman, which won two awards each, and praised Sukriti Veni for being selected as the Best Child Actress for Gandhi Thatha Chettu, saying her recognition highlights the abundant talent in the Telugu film industry.

Komati Reddy recalled that, for the first time after the formation of Telangana, the government under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy instituted the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards to honour cinematic excellence and extend support to the industry.

He emphasised that the “public government” is committed to elevating the Telugu film industry to the international stage in the coming years through consistent encouragement and recognition.

The Minister extended special congratulations to the award-winning films, the talented artists, and the entire teams whose collective efforts brought national recognition. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing the industry and creating opportunities for it to gain global prominence.
