Hyderabad, Mar 20 (UNI): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday presented a Rs 3.24 lakh crore budget for the 2026-27 financial year in the State Assembly, with a focus on welfare and development.

The total outlay stood at Rs 3,24,234 crore, against Rs 3,04,305 crore in the previous year’s budget.

Revenue expenditure was estimated at Rs 2,34,406 crore, while capital expenditure was pegged at Rs 47,267 crore.

In his speech, Bhatti said that while giving priority to development and welfare, the government was also emphasizing fiscal discipline without indulging in extravagance.

He appealed to the opposition not to confine itself merely to criticism, but to offer constructive advice and suggestions for the development of the state and become partners in progress.

“Even while facing many challenges on one side, we have prepared this budget in a balanced way so that there will be no shortage of funds for development and welfare programmes,” he said.

“Without placing any additional burden on the common man through taxation, our people’s government believes in making the best use of available resources, creating new wealth, and sharing it with the people,” the Minister added.

With confidence in the people of Telangana and the belief that this budget will secure their future, he said, “I place before this House for its approval the Budget for the financial year 2026-27, which stands by the people and seeks to fulfill their dreams.”
