Hyderabad, Aug 26 (UNI) The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have caught a Revenue official red-handed when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
On Friday, at about 1400 hours, the Accused Officer (AO) Askani Narsimulu, Addl. Revenue Inspector, office of Tahsildar, Atmakur Mandal, Wanaparthy District, was caught red-handed in his office when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 5,000 from the complainant Thithula Janaki Ramulu of Gandhinagar Colony, in the same district, for doing an official favour.
‘To forward the proceedings (Panchanama) drafted on August 3 in the fields of Ghattanna, grandfather of the complainant, to the Tahsildar in respect of the petition of the complainant given in the MRO office, for mutation of the land from his grandfather’s name to the concerned legal heirs,’ a ACB release said on Saturday.
The tainted bribe amount was recovered from AO’s possession. The left hand fingers of AO and the inner flap of the left side front pocket of the pant of AO yielded positive results. Thereby, the AO performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly.
Therefore, the accused officer was being arrested and produced before the First Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Nampally, here.
