- Special lecture on Panchkoshi education for teachers held at NITTTR
Bhopal: A special lecture on the topic “Panchakosha-based Education for Teachers” was organized at the NITTTR. The keynote speaker of the program was Avneesh Bhatnagar, All India Vice President, Vidya Bharati. He elaborated on the Panchakosha (Five Sheaths) concept as described in Indian educational philosophy and explained how a teacher can empower students at physical, vital, mental, intellectual, and spiritual levels.
Bhatnagar emphasized that education is not merely about providing information but is a holistic process of personality development.
He explained that Panchakosha-based education includes five levels: Annamaya Kosha – Physical health and discipline, Pranamaya Kosha – Development of energy and life force, Manomaya Kosha – Emotional balance and purification of thoughts, Vigyanmaya Kosha – Intellect, wisdom, and decision-making ability, Anandamaya Kosha – Morality, spirituality, inner peace, and soul satisfaction.
Teachers can become role models for students
Bhatnagar asserted that if teachers themselves become conscious and aware at these five levels, they can become role models for their students. He also stressed that the current education system needs training programs based on these sheaths so that the teaching process shifts from being merely knowledge-centric to life-centric.
The Director of the Institute expressed gratitude to Avneesh Bhatnagar and stated that NITTTR Bhopal will work towards integrating Panchakosha-based education into its teacher training programs.
The Program Coordinator, Prof. P K Purohit, remarked that the lecture was not just an academic discourse but also served as a means of self-development and awakening of inner consciousness for the teachers. On this occasion, faculty members of the institute and participants from various states undergoing training were present. Babli Chaturvedi conducted the program.
