Bhopal: Tallest 105 feet effigy of Ravana went in flames at Kolar. Big events were organized at 25 places including Bittan Market, Chhola, TT Nagar, Kaliasot.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav attended the program held at Bittan Market, then Kolar, later Chhola Dussehra Ground.
After 7 pm in Bittan Market, 54 feet tall effigies of Ravana, 53 feet tall effigies of Meghnad and Kumbhkarna were torchedt. The sky became colorful with the fireworks of Jaipur. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, who attended the event, wished Happy Dussehra.
Burning of 105 feet effigy of Ravana at Banjari Dussehra Ground
Hindu Utsav Samiti organized Ravana Dahan at Banjari Dussehra Ground. Bhopal’s tallest 105 feet effigy of Ravana was burnt at 9.45 pm. Fireworks were done in Jaipur and Sivakasi. Committee secretary Ravindra Yati said that this was the 22nd year of the event.
Chola: Ravana Dahan happening since 78 years
It has been about 78 years since the Dussehra festival was held in the Chhola Dussehra ground of the old city. Earlier it was celebrated by the Hindu Festival Committee, since 1960 it is in the hands of the Hindu Festival Committee. Here, at around 11 pm, a 51 feet tall effigy of Ravana was burnt. Effigies of Kumbhkarna and Meghnad, 45 feet tall each, were also burnt. Committee president Santosh Sahu said that a procession was also taken out from Banke Bihari temple at 1 pm.
At TT Nagar, litterateurs honored on stage. In the ground of TT Nagar, 51 feet tall Ravana and 45 feet tall effigies of Meghnad and Kumbhkarna were burnt. This was the 65th year of the festival. Coordinator Ajay Shrivastava and reception chairman Vatsyayan Jain ‘Sonu Bhabha’ said that litterateurs were honoured on the occasion.
