Swift firefighting response averts major loss to BHEL

Bhopal: A potentially serious fire incident at the Transformer Department (TRM), Block-3 of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bhopal was swiftly brought under control due to the prompt and professional response of the firefighting team. Reaching the site without delay, the personnel acted with presence of mind, coordination and technical expertise, ensuring that the blaze was contained before it could escalate. Their timely intervention prevented significant damage to plant infrastructure, machinery and human resources.

In a brief ceremony organised by the department, General Manager (Feeders and Transformer Manufacturing, Commercial and Maintenance) Rupesh Tailang honoured the members of the firefighting team with commendation certificates and floral tributes in the presence of Assistant Commandant, CISF, Deepak Asthana. Senior officials, including Additional General Managers D. S. Thakur and Amulya Devta, along with departmental staff and security personnel, were present.

Addressing the gathering, Tailang praised the team’s courage, alertness and dedication, describing their action as a reflection of the organisation’s strong safety culture. Asthana also lauded the team spirit displayed and urged continued vigilance in future.
