Mumbai, Mar 30 (UNI) Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head coach Chandrakant Pandit on Sunday confirmed that star allrounder Sunil Narine is fully fit and available for selection in tomorrow’s match against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.
“He has recovered well and has been practicing since yesterday. He practiced today as well and is absolutely fine,” Pandit told reporters on the eve of the 12 match of the IPL 2025.
Replying to a query, Pandit said that the management remains focused on the immediate task at hand and is not concerned about external factors. “As a coach and team management, we always focus on playing with whatever surface is provided to us. The curator handles the pitch, and at this moment, my focus is entirely on the next game tomorrow. I am not concerned about who controls what; our priority is tomorrow’s crucial match,” he said.
On the challenges of playing in Mumbai, Pandit said, “We have adapted well. Unfortunately, Mumbai has not had the same advantage, and we plan to use that to our benefit. The game is being played in Mumbai, so we need to adjust to the conditions quickly, and that is what we have been planning.”
Addressing concerns regarding home advantage, the KKR coach stated that even Chennai has not witnessed a significant home advantage in domestic cricket. “It would be better if every team had a balanced number of home and away games out of the 14 matches,” he remarked.
Responding to queries about senior players struggling to adapt to changing formats, Pandit dismissed such concerns. “I don’t believe they are struggling. With the amount of experience they have, it is not difficult for them to adjust,” he concluded.
