Students show their talent in dance competition Nritya Nirvana

Bhopal: An inter-departmental dance competition, Nritya Nirvana, was organized in the Bhopal School of Social Science, in which different departments of the college gave wonderful performances. The theme of the dance was Indo-Western, and every department presented the burning issues of society in dance and gave a great performance. In this event, the college’s cultural committee and Spartans group presented a wonderful amalgamation of creativity and art.

Famous Bharatnatyam dancer and teacher Kavita Shaji, Bharatnatyam Chhau’s Suman Kothari and Salsa and Contemporary dance’s Rinkal Sir were present as judges in this dance competition.

College Principal Dr. Father John PJ congratulated the young students for their wonderful performance and wished them for further excellent performance in the field of art in the coming times. The college’s Mayaar theatre group staged a wonderful play ‘Hum Nasha Nahi Karenge’, giving the message of opposing drug abuse while telling about the deteriorating social environment and increasing crimes.

In the dance competition, the first prize trophy and ?3000 cash prize were won by the Computer Department, second prize was won by the English Department, third by the Management Department and the consolation prize was won by the Psychology Department.

On this occasion, the Principal of the college also honored the Mayar Theatre Group by giving them a cash award. College Vice Principal Dr. Sister Sonia and Dean of Academics Father Jomi appreciated the excellent performance of all the artists. Cultural Committee Incharge Mrs. Divya Tripathi and Spartans Incharge Dr. Manju Mehta expressed their gratitude to everyone. Team Spartans presented the Nritya Nirvana event very beautifully.
