Bhopal: As per a pre-announced programme, the Mantralaya Seva Adhikari Karmachari Sangh and the Madhya Pradesh Karmachari Manch jointly staged a demonstration on Friday in front of Gate No. 6 of Vallabh Bhavan, drawing attention to long-pending issues of Mantralaya staff and other state government employees. The protest marked the first symbolic phase of the agitation after the end of Kharmas, a period during which collective actions are traditionally deferred.

Employee leaders stated that if no positive outcome emerges from this phase, a larger agitation would be launched during the upcoming Assembly session next month. Several employee organisations, including the Third Class Government Employees’ Association, Corporation and Board Employees’ Union, Transport Employees’ Union and Forest Employees’ Union, extended support and participated in the protest.

The gathering was addressed by Mantralaya Seva Adhikari Karmachari Sangh president Engineer Sudhir Nayak and state president of the Karmachari Manch, Ashok Pandey. Employee leaders Shyam Sundar Sharma and Vijay Mishra also spoke on the occasion. A large number of Mantralaya employees, including outsourced and permanent staff concerned about their future, took part in the demonstration.

Following the protest, a memorandum outlining pending demands was submitted to the office of the Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister under police supervision. The union reiterated demands such as grant of the fourth time-scale pay, payment of pending dearness allowance, restoration of the old pension scheme, resolution of promotion-related stagnation and regularisation of eligible employees.
