More than 5000 Gram Panchayats declared TB free
Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has praised health workers, Nikshay Mitras, social workers for the excellent implementation of Nikshay Bharat Abhiyan. Deputy Chief Minister Shukla said that Madhya Pradesh is fully committed to achieving the goal of TB free India by 2025. He said that this goal is not possible only with government efforts, but it can be realized only with the active participation of every section of the society. He has appealed to all the citizens to cooperate in this campaign and play their important role in making Madhya Pradesh TB free.
Shukla, while praising the commitment and dedication of health workers, Nikshay Mitras, social organizations and common citizens on World TB Day, said that Madhya Pradesh has moved forward at such a fast pace towards the elimination of tuberculosis due to everyone’s hard work and spirit of service. Nikshay Mitras have given new life to the patients by providing financial and nutritional assistance at their own level, which is an exemplary example.
Nikshay Camp
Under the 100-day special Nikshay Camp campaign in Madhya Pradesh, an intensive TB search and treatment campaign was conducted in 23 districts from 7 December 2024. The objective of this campaign is to quickly identify TB patients in districts with high TB ??burden, reduce mortality rate and prevent new cases.
Under this campaign, more than 78 lakh people were screened, in which 21 thousand 430 new TB patients were identified (notified) and their treatment was started immediately. Financial assistance was also provided through DBT. During this period, more than 19 thousand Nikshay Mitras provided nutritional support to more than 25 thousand TB patients and more than 4 lakh citizens took the oath of TB free India. Under community participation in the state, more than 5 thousand Gram Panchayats have been declared tuberculosis free.
From November 1, 2024, all notified TB patients are being given financial assistance of one thousand rupees per month during treatment, which was earlier Rs 500 per month. Apart from this, a lump sum amount of Rs 750 is also being provided to all detected TB patients in notified tribal areas.
