Bhopal: In a poignant gesture of support, State Bank of India (SBI), the nation’s largest bank, has extended a Rs 1 crore insurance benefit to the family of martyr Sub-Inspector Ramcharan Gautam. SBI, always at the forefront of social responsibility, provides extensive insurance benefits under its State Government Salary Package (SGSP) and Police Salary Package (PSP) accounts. These include personal accident insurance of Rs 1 crore, air accident coverage of Rs 1.60 crore, and life insurance of Rs 10 lakh, among others.
Sub-Inspector Ramcharan Gautam, a brave officer of the Madhya Pradesh Police, was tragically martyred during a rescue operation when a mob attacked him in the village of Gadra, District Mauganj. At the time, he was covered under SBI’s Police Salary Package, which entitled him to a Rs 1 crore personal accident insurance payout.
In a heartfelt ceremony at the Chief Minister’s residence, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav presented a cheque for Rs 1 crore to Smt. Pushpa Gautam, the wife of the martyr. SBI’s Chief General Manager for Bhopal Circle, Mr. Chander Shekhar Sharma, also urged the state government to expand these valuable insurance benefits to more state employees.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including the Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana and SBI’s top management.
