Bhopal: A disturbing incident unfolded in Bhopal’s Kohefiza area when an MBA student was allegedly harassed and threatened at her residence by a persistent stalker. Police swiftly responded, apprehending the accused, Harsh Gupta, at the scene.
According to authorities, Gupta, a former acquaintance of the victim, had been relentlessly pursuing her and sending her obscene messages via phone for some time. Their association began approximately two years ago, but the student had recently distanced herself from him.
Police reports indicate that Gupta, angered by the student’s attempts to create distance, escalated his harassment with continuous stalking, abusive messages, and threats. Fearing social repercussions, the victim had, until now, tried to ignore his advances.
However, the situation reached a critical point on Saturday morning when Harsh Gupta appeared at the victim’s home in Suncity Colony, Lalghati. Upon ringing the doorbell, he allegedly launched into a barrage of abuse, physical assault, and verbal threats as soon as the unsuspecting student opened the door.
Police arrived promptly and took Harsh Gupta into custody. The incident underscores the growing concern over harassment and stalking, prompting calls for increased awareness and more stringent measures to protect individuals from such persistent threats.
