Stage set for Legends League Cricket matches in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 8 (UNI) The stage is set for the Legends League Cricket matches to be held at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium starting Wednesday, co-sponsored by the Kashmir willow bat manufacturer GR8 Sports India Pvt. Limited.

In announcing their partnership with Legends League Cricket 2024 as the official sponsor for the Kashmir matches, GR8 founders Fawzul-Kabiir and Mohammad Niaz-ul-Kabir expressed their excitement about being part of the event.

“This collaboration marks a significant step for us as we continue to showcase the unmatched quality of Kashmir willow bats on a global platform,” they stated.

GR8 Sports India Pvt. Ltd. is the only ICC-certified and approved bat manufacturer from the Kashmir Valley, promoting high-quality Kashmir willow bats on the international stage.

A total of seven matches, including the final, will be played at Bakshi Stadium, where GR8 will honor the ‘Game Changer of the Match’ with its exquisite Kashmir willow bat, showcasing the Kashmir willow bat industry on a more meaningful platform.

Furthermore, for every six hits during the matches in Kashmir, GR8 will plant 12 trees. “This initiative is a joint effort of GR8 Sports and the CIED-IUST Foundation (Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development, Islamic University, Awantipora),” a statement from GR8 noted.

A significant leg of the 2024 edition of Legends League Cricket, this grand event features iconic players from around the globe and is being held in Kashmir for the first time.

GR8 Sports’ collaboration not only underscores its commitment to supporting cricket at all levels but also brings attention to the valley’s renowned sports manufacturing industry.

The matches, set against the stunning backdrop of Kashmir, highlight the region’s growing prominence in the world of sports.

Kabiir emphasised the bright future for cricket in Kashmir, stating, “Kashmir has immense potential to become a hub for international cricket, both in terms of player development and as a manufacturer of world-class cricket gear.”
