Colombo, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will tender his resignation on Wednesday, making the way for President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to appoint a new Cabinet. Yesterday, the Prime Minister called on Mr Rajapaksa and discussed it.
A special Cabinet meeting will be held at 4.00 p.m. today, after which, he will make a public statement announcing his resignation from office, Daily Mirror reported. Later in the day, the President is slated to appoint a small Cabinet for a brief period till the dissolution of Parliament after March 1, next year.
