Dharamshala, Dec 12 (UNI) Ahead of the third India–South Africa T20 International, the South African cricket team arrived here today, receiving a grand welcome rooted in Himachali culture at the Kangra Airport.
The team, led by captain Aiden Markram, landed at around 4:20 PM in evening by an Alliance Air flight. Traditional musical instruments and performances by local artists created a vibrant atmosphere as the players exited the airport.
Senior officials from HPCA and the district administration were present, and elaborate security arrangements were visible throughout the airport premises.
Players including Hendricks, Markram, Brevis, Donovan Ferreira, David Miller, Quinton de Kock, and others arrived together and were escorted under tight police security to their hotel in Dharamshala.
Both India and South Africa will hold practice sessions at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium on Saturday (tomorrow). The much-awaited third T20 International between the two teams will be played on 14 December. The very next day, on 15 December, both teams will depart for Lucknow for their next fixture.
A large crowd of cricket fans gathered at the Kangra Airport to catch a glimpse of their favourite South African stars. The return of international cricket to Dharamshala has sparked excitement across the region.
