Bhopal: A software engineer who had come to Bhopal on Raksha Bandhan, died after drowning in a canal. He worked in a company in Nagpur. He was to return on Monday.
The accident happened in Kolar area on Sunday evening. Krishna Singh (27) had left home for a picnic with four friends in the afternoon. He drowned in deep water while bathing in Kajlikhera canal.
Divers recovered his body late at night. After postmortem on Monday, the body was handed over to the family. Police are investigating the matter.
The youth had come home on his sister’s call. Krishna Singh was a resident of Amarai Bagh Sewania. He had completed his studies in software engineering from Bhopal. He came to Bhopal from Nagpur on August 15 and got Rakhi tied by his sister. After this, he stayed in Bhopal. He had a return ticket for Monday, but the accident happened before that.
While bathing with friends, Krishna’s feet slipped and he went into deep water. He did not know how to swim, and the four friends who had gone with him also did not know how to swim. Krishna used to support the family financially.
