Navi Mumbai, Oct 23 (UNI) Smriti Mandhana continued her golden run in 2025 with another record-laden performance, smashing her 14th One-Day International century against New Zealand and rewriting multiple pages in the record books.
With this knock, Mandhana not only moved to second on the all-time list of most centuries in women’s ODIs, just one behind Australia’s Meg Lanning (15), but also equalled South Africa’s Tazmin Brits’ record of five centuries in a calendar year.
The India opener’s latest hundred came off Jess Kerr in the 31st over, as she celebrated by raising her bat and taking off her helmet to a rousing reception from the crowd.
Mandhana’s record spree didn’t stop there. Alongside opening partner Pratika Rawal, she has now accumulated 1,557 partnership runs in 2025, the second-highest tally in ODI history (men’s or women’s). The only pair above them remains India’s legendary duo of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, who amassed 1,635 runs in 1998.
The Mandhana-Rawal pair has also become only the fourth combination in women’s ODIs to register multiple 200-plus partnerships, joining elite pairs such as Meg Lanning-Ellyse Perry, Tammy Beaumont-Amy Jones, and Tazmin Brits-Laura Wolvaardt.
This century also continues Mandhana’s rich form, following successive fifties against Australia and England.
Her commanding run at the top has silenced earlier questions about India’s ability to convert starts into big scores, reaffirming her place among the modern greats of women’s cricket.
