Six dead, 2 injured in Kenya plane crash – Police

Nairobi, (UNI) Six people died, and two others were seriously injured in a plane crash near the Kenyan capital of Nairobi on Thursday, Kiambu County Commissioner Henry Wafula said.

“Six are dead … two were seriously injured,” Wafula told reporters.

Among the victims were medical personnel on board the plane and people inside the building that the plane crashed into, the police chief said.

Citizen TV broadcaster reported that a light aircraft operated by AMREF Flying Doctors, an air ambulance, crashed in a residential area.

Kenyan troops and national police launched a rescue operation. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
