Sitharaman chairs third pre-budget consultation with MSME stakeholders

New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, on Wednesday, chaired the third round of her pre-Budget consultation with stakeholders from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in connection with the forthcoming union Budget 2026-27.

The meeting was attended by union Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary; Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs; and senior officials from the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.

During the consultation, stakeholders from the MSME sector provided valuable inputs and suggestions to the Finance Minister on various issues affecting the sector, including taxation, credit availability, and technology upgradation.

Marking the beginning of the series of Pre-Budget discussions with various stakeholders before the final annual budget is formulated and presented to the legislature, Sitharaman had on Novemner 10 chaired the first and second round of her Pre-Budget consultation meetings with the country’s leading economists and eminent agriculturists and farmer organizations respectively.

The first meeting was attended by the Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance, along with the Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India and senior officers from the Department of Economic Affairs. The second round of meeting was with the representatives of farmers’ associations, agri-based industries and agricultural economists

The Finance Minister is scheduled to present the union Budget 2026-27 in Parliament on February 1, 2026.
