Single-window film policy soon; Hyd to be production hub: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, March 20 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that the state government will soon introduce a single-window policy to provide all necessary permissions for film production through an online platform, aimed at simplifying processes and attracting global investments to Hyderabad.

Speaking at the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards (TGFA) 2025 presentation ceremony held at HITEX late on Thursday night, the Chief Minister said the government is committed to transforming Hyderabad into a global hub for film production.

He invited investors from across the world to explore opportunities in the city, especially in the backdrop of the ongoing crisis in West Asia, assuring them of stability and safety.

Highlighting Hyderabad’s growing international appeal, he noted that global streaming giant Netflix has already established its GCC centre in the city, signalling increasing global interest, including from Hollywood. The Chief Minister said countries such as Japan, South Korea, and the United States would be encouraged to collaborate, helping position the film industry as a major economic driver.

Revanth Reddy noted that Hyderabad remains one of the safest destinations globally, even during uncertain times, and reiterated that the state government is promoting the film industry on par with sectors like IT and pharmaceuticals. He assured investors of full support and security in choosing Hyderabad as their production base.

Paying tribute to revolutionary balladeer Gaddar, the Chief Minister said the awards instituted in his name aim to inspire and nurture young talent in the film industry. He emphasized the government’s responsibility to create opportunities for emerging artists and technicians.

Recalling the efforts of stalwarts such as N T Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, D Ramanaidu, and Krishna in shifting the Telugu film industry base to Hyderabad, he also acknowledged the contributions of Ramoji Rao in establishing Ramoji Film City, and noted the support extended by Prabhakar Reddy and Dasari Narayana Rao to film workers.
