Mies (Switzerland), Mar 29 (UNI) Basketball’s world governing body FIBA has announced the extension of the existing partnership with Sport Singapore (SportSG) in 2026 and 2027 at the opening ceremony of the 2025 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup in Singapore.
FIBA confirmed that its 3×3 Asia Cup in 2026 will also be held in Singapore, as well as the FIBA 3×3 World Cup Qualifiers in April 2026 and the FIBA 3×3 World Cup in June 2027.
More than 24 teams will participate in the 2026 FIBA 3×3 World Cup Qualifiers, and the World Cup in 2027 is expected to welcome 40 teams from around the world.
“This extended partnership between FIBA and SportSG aims to further grow interest in the sport and establish Singapore as a regional hub for basketball,” FIBA said in the announcement.
