Shukla will launch “Dastak” campaign today

Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla will launch the “Dastak Saha Stop Diarrhea” state level campaign on June 25 at 11 am in Bhopal. Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Narendra Shivaji Patel will also be present. Dastak Abhiyan is conducted every year in the state to identify childhood diseases and ensure prompt treatment/referral. The main objective of the campaign is to reduce child mortality cases. In the year 2024-25, Dastak Saha Stop Diarrhea Campaign will run from June 25 to August 31, 2024.

Health anomalies in children will be identified

Under the Dastak campaign, access, management and referral of sick newborns and children and follow-up of children discharged from the hospital will be done. Supplementation of vitamin A in children aged 9 months to 5 years and distribution of ORS and zinc for identification and control of diarrhea in children aged 0 to 5 years will be done by health workers. Along with this, quick identification and management of pneumonia, congenital malformations and growth delay, severe malnutrition in children aged 0-5 years will be done.

Along with screening and management of severe anemia in children aged 6 months to 5 years, advice regarding infant and child nutrition will be given to the community. Necessary diagnostic action will be taken after taking information about the condition of partially vaccinated children or children who have missed vaccination.
