Shukla to release “A Forest Officer’s Diary”

Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla will release the book “A Forest Officer’s Diary,” a book centered on the bittersweet memories of retired IFS officer S.R. Rawat’s 37 years of service in the forests, at 4 p.m. on Monday at the Multipurpose Hall, Forest Rest House, Char Imli, Bhopal. Minister of State for Forests Dilip Ahirwar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force V.N. Ambade, and forest officials will be present on the occasion.

This memoir is a living document of the 37 years of service of S.R. Rawat of the Indian Forest Service, Madhya Pradesh. This 15-chapter book provides an authentic account of his journey spanning nearly four decades, from his training period at the Forest College to his retirement. The book comprehensively depicts unforgettable moments spent in nature, wildlife, and firsthand experiences of diverse challenges in the field through short, true stories. The author shares his extensive experience of forestry and conservation efforts in various forest areas of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
