Shri Vinod Babu Maheshwari leaves for heavenly abode

Nagpur: Navbharat-Navrastra family’s chief editor Shri Vinodji Babu Maheshwari has passed away. His Mahaprayan has sent a wave of grief in Navbharat-Navrastra, Central Chronicle family and the entire Maheshwari community. He was unwell for some days. He breathed his last in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. On Monday afternoon, his mortal remains were brought from Mumbai to his Civil Line Nagpur residence Navbharat Nikunj. His last rites were performed at Mokshadham at 5 pm. He has left behind his wife Smt. Shrirangadevi Maheshwari, son Shri Nimish Maheshwari, daughter-in-law Smt. Anupama Maheshwari, grandson Shri Vaibhav Maheshwari, granddaughter-in-law Smt. Shruti Maheshwari, Shri Raghav Maheshwari and a flourishing family. Dignitaries from political, social, cultural, industry and business sectors have expressed their deep condolences on his departure.

CM, Governor express condolences

Governor CP Radhakrishnan and the state’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed their condolences on the demise of Vinod Babu, the editor-in-chief of Navbharat-Navrastra and Central Chronicle. The state’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had a darshan of the mortal remains in Mumbai hospital and said that the news of Vinod Babu’s demise is very sad for him. He always gave priority to development-oriented journalism.

6 decades of journalism

He was active in the world of journalism for the last 6 decades. His journalism always focused on the three-pronged principle of ‘of the readers…by the readers…for the readers…’. Through journalism, he not only emphasized on the basic facilities and services of the public but also gave space to the solution of small problems of his readers. His development-oriented ideology and suggestions also helped the system for rural and urban development. He always stressed on easy and convenient access to road transport, railways and aviation services. His vision was to make the lives of common citizens easier. Through his journalism, he always taught the lesson of political integrity. He was an advocate of non-discriminatory social values. While he followed the set ethics and decorum of journalism throughout his life, he also inspired every member of the Navbharat-Navrastra-Central Chronicle family to follow this path. He was the flag bearer of new techniques and methods of journalism. For this, he travelled across the country and abroad. In the 70s, he also went to Japan to learn the ‘printing of the future’ technology.

Lifelong service to Hindi literature

Under the guidance of the respected Shri Ramgopalji Maheshwari, the founder of Navbharat, Shri Vinodbabu Maheshwari continued to contribute significantly to the activities of Vidarbha Hindi Sahitya Sammelan throughout his life. After the departure of Bade Babuji 25 years ago, he became the Principal Secretary of Vidharbha Hindi Sahitya Sammelan. He constructed more than half a dozen auditoriums in Vidarbha Hindi Sahitya Sammelan Mor Bhawan. These auditoriums are made available at a minimum fee for organizing literary, cultural and social activities. He started the ‘Sahityaiki’ initiative to provide a platform to writers and poets from small towns and villages of Vidarbha and the whole of Maharashtra. He promoted Guru Purnima Utsav, Holi Utsav and Sharad Purnima Mahotsav. He prepared a plan for the preservation and expansion of all regional languages ??including Hindi. In this series, the World Sindhi Sahitya Sammelan was also organized in VHSS this year. Every year, personalities who have made a significant contribution to Hindi journalism and literature are honored in the annual convention.
