Mumbai, Nov 13 (UNI) West Indies allrounder Sherfane Rutherford has been traded to Mumbai Indians (MI) from Gujarat Titans (GT) ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
Rutherford, who was acquired by Gujarat Titans for Rs 2.6 crore, will join Mumbai Indians at the same fee.
The 27-year-old left-handed batter and medium pacer has represented the West Indies in 44 T20 Internationals and holds the record for the highest sixth-wicket partnership in T20Is — a 139-run stand with Andre Russell against Australia in Perth.
In the IPL, Rutherford has featured in 23 matches so far, turning out for Delhi Capitals in 2019 and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2022. He was part of the Mumbai Indians squad in 2020 and the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024 but did not make a playing XI appearance in either season.
With his return to MI, Rutherford will look to add depth to their middle order and strengthen their all-round options ahead of the 2026 campaign.
