Shajahanabad Police Nab Notorious Burglar

  • Rs 2 Lakh in Stolen Goods Recovered

Bhopal, Shajahanabad Police have achieved a significant breakthrough, arresting a habitual offender linked to multiple break-ins in the area and recovering stolen valuables worth lakhs. The arrest followed an investigation into an incident reported on September 28, 2025, where complainant Karan Suryavanshi returned home to find his main door lock broken and his house ransacked.

The victim’s mother confirmed a substantial theft: jewelry, including two gold mangalsutras, rings, silver anklets, and cash, was missing from the locked almirah.

Using technical intelligence and community sources, police identified the culprit as Asif Khan alias ‘Kala,’ (36), a resident of Mother India Colony. Upon questioning, the accused confessed to not one, but two separate burglaries committed in the Mother India Colony area targeting locked, unoccupied homes.

Police successfully recovered a total of Rs 2 lakh worth of stolen gold and silver jewelry, along with cash, linked to both cases. Asif Khan, who has a prior criminal record, has been arrested and charged. The police team, led by SHO Umesh Pal Singh Chauhan, has been commended for their quick action.
