- From cleanliness drives to health check-ups, people unite for service and sustainability
Bhopal: As part of the ongoing “Seva Pakhwada” campaign (September 17 – October 2, 2025), Shahdol district has launched several initiatives to promote hygiene and public health. In Girwa village of Budhar Gram Panchayat, villagers were urged to avoid single-use plastics through an awareness rally. District Panchayat Sanitation Coordinator Sachin Srivastava appealed to merchants to end plastic use, highlighting its harmful environmental effects. Meanwhile, health check-ups for sanitation workers were conducted in Jaitpur and Charkhari villages. Under the “Healthy Women Empowered Family” program, women were screened at Gohparu’s Lafda Sub-Health Center, where free medicines were distributed. By September 19, hemoglobin levels of over 4,600 women and children had been tested.
Honoring mothers through green initiatives
In Anuppur, Minister-in-Charge Dilip Ahirwar planted a sapling under the “One Tree for Mother’s Name” campaign. He encouraged every citizen to plant a tree in honor of their mother, combining respect for parents with environmental protection.
Organic farming awareness
At Government Tulsi College, PM College of Excellence, Anuppur, a one-day workshop on organic farming was organized. Keynote speaker Chandan Kumar Yadav shared practical insights into sustainable farming practices, while Professor Rishikesh Chandravanshi explained the scientific benefits of organic methods to students.
In Chhatarpur, citizens took the “Cleanliness Pledge”, vowing to segregate waste and keep their surroundings clean. Similarly, Shramdaan activities in 49 gram panchayats of Narmadapuram encouraged villagers to voluntarily participate in rural sanitation drives.
