Massive Crackdown in Seoni Hawala Case: 11 Police Booked, Five Arrested

Sleuths Transferred to Jabalpur Crime Branch as CM Vows Strict Action Against Corrupt Officers

Seoni/Bhopal: Acting swiftly on the directives of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, authorities have filed an FIR against 11 police personnel, including SDOP Pooja Pandey, and detained five individuals in connection with the high-profile Seoni hawala heist case.

 Zero Tolerance for Corruption

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that maintaining law and order, creating a crime-free environment, and ensuring citizen safety are the primary duties of police officers. He issued a stern warning, stating the state government will not tolerate police personnel who deviate from their duties. “Those found guilty in the Seoni case will face strict disciplinary and legal action. The law is equal for everyone in the state, and violators will not be spared,” the Chief Minister asserted.

Police Officers Face Grave Charges

The police personnel are booked under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) including 310(2) (Dacoity), 126(2) (Wrongful Restraint), 140(3) (Kidnapping), and 61(2) (Criminal Conspiracy). SDOP Pooja Pandey, SI Arpit Bhairam, Constables Yogendra, Neeraj, and Jagdish have been taken into custody. The other police staff named in the FIR are Head Constables Makhan and Rajesh Janghela, Constables Ravindra Uike and Ritesh (driver), and gunmen Kedar and Sadaphal.

The investigation, which involves the seizure of nearly Rs 1.75 crore in cash from the October 8 incident, has been transferred from Seoni to the Jabalpur Crime Branch. Earlier, 11 employees, including DSP Pooja Pandey and Bandoi Police Station In-charge Arpit Bhairam, were suspended. Further FIRs were also filed against three civilians—Sohan Parmar, Irfan Pathan, and Sheikh Mukhtar—on Saturday night for organized crime.
