Sensex up over 200 pts

Mumbai, Feb 1 (UNI) The BSE Sensex remained strong on Saturday, rising 201.53 pts at 77,702.10 in the opening session ahead of the union budget to be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 56.05 pts at 23,564.45.

The equity market remained strong for the fourth consecutive session today as the Sensex registered an intraday high and low at 77,832.05 and 77,434.85 pts, respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 23,595.45 and 23,479.05 pts, respectively.

The mid cap moved up 0.60 pc and small cap by 0.84 pc.

In 31 scrips, 23 advanced while 8 declined.

The gainers were Ultracemco by 2.35 pc to Rs 11773.25, IndusInd Bank by 2.21 pc to Rs 1014.10, ITC Hotel by 2 pc to Rs 167.95 and Sun Pharma by 1.38 pc to Rs 1767.15.

The losers were Titan by 1.13 pc to Rs 3450.35, Nestle India Ltd by 0.95 pc to Rs 2291, HCL Technology by 0.80 pc to Rs 1711.35 and Zomato by 0.64 pc to Rs 218.95.
