Sensex recovers 230.02 pts

Mumbai, Nov 27 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday recovered 230.02 pts to close at 80,234.08 following gains in Utilities, Power and BSE services stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 80.40 pts at 24,274.90

The Sensex opened at 80,121.03 up 117 pts. During the day it was rallied 507 pts at 80,511.15 days high, before closing at 80,234.08, surging 230.02 pts from its previous close.

Meanwhile, it was slipped 160 pts at 79,844.49 days low.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 24,354.55 pts and by 24,145.65 pts respectively.

The stocks that lifted the market were Utilities by 3.11 pc, Power by 2.74 pc and BSE services by 2.53 pc.

The Mid cap rose 0.34. pc and Small cap by 1.09 pc.

In 30 scrips, 18 advanced while 12 declined.

The gainers were Adani Ports by 5.91 pc to Rs 1195.50, NTPC by 2.31 pc to Rs 370, HDFC Bank by 1.38 pc to Rs 1810 and Bajaj Finance by 1.31 pc to Rs 6705.95.

The losers were Titan by 0.77 pc to Rs 3290, SBI by 0.57 pc to Rs 834.55, Asian paints by 0.54 pc to Rs 2491.05 and TCS by 0.47 pc to Rs 4331.45.

Asian Market remained weak, as Strait Times slipped by 0.12 pc, Taiwan Weighted by 1.54 pc and Kospi by 0.69 pc.
