Mumbai, Apr 11 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Friday, the last trading day of the week posted a huge gain of 1310.11 pts to close at 75,157.26 after the Trump government announced not to impose any import tariffs on any nations for another 90 days, boosting investors’ sentiments.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 429.40 pts to 22,828.55.
The day opened on a strong note at 74,835.49, advancing 958 pts.
It remained green throughout the session. During the day, it zoomed 1620 pts at 75,467.33, a day’s high, before closing at 75,157.26, up 1310.11 pts from its previous close.
The Nifty registered a day’s high at 22,923.90 and a low at 22,695.40 pts.
Stocks that glittered were Metal by 4.29 pc, followed by Commodities by 3.40 pc, Consumer Durable by 2.92 pc, Utilities by 2.75 pc, and Power by 2.64 pc.
The Mid cap gained 1.84 pc and the Small cap by 3.04 pc.
The gainers were Tata Steel by 4.87 pc to Rs 133.40, Powergrid by 3.72 pc to Rs 304.20, NTPC by 3.21 pc to Rs 359.95, and M&M by 3.11 pc to Rs 2604.
The losers were TCS by 0.20 pc to Rs 3239.60 and Asian Paints by 0.76 pc to Rs 2391.50.
A mixed trend was seen in the Asian Market as Hong Kong’s Hang Seng moved up by 1.11 pc, China’s Shanghai Composite by 0.45 pc, and Taiwan Weighted by 2.71 pc.
While, Kospi fell by 0.51 pc and the Set Composite by 0.47 pc.
