Mumbai, Sep 13 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Friday fell by 71.77 pts to settle at 82,890.94 on profit booking by local operators despite weak Asian Market.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) declined 32.40 points at 25,356.50.
Registering an all time high on Thursday, the Sensex opened at a new high at 83,091.55, rising 129 points. It was registered days high at 83,092.93, up 130 points. Later, it was dropped 309 points at 82,653.22, days low, before closing at 82,890.94, sliding 71.77 points from its last close.
The NSE registered days high and low at 25,430.50 and 24,292.45 points respectively.
The stocks that dragged the market were Energy by 0.64 pc, FMCG by 0.55 pc, Oil and Gas by 0.55 pc and 0.35 pc to Rs BSE services.
The Mid cap rose by 0.48 pc and Small cap by 0.95 pc.
In 30 scrips, 11 advanced while 19 declined.
The losers were Adani Ports by 1.37 pc to Rs 1452.05, ITC by 1.01 pc to Rs 513.80, Bharti Airtel by 0.88 pc to Rs 1632.05, NTPC by 0.78 pc to Rs 401.65 and Maruti Suzuki by 0.75 pc to Rs 12300.
The gainers were Bajaj Finance by 2.31 pc to Rs 7597, Bajaj Finserv by 2.17 pc to Rs 1893.75, Axis Bank Ltd by 1.19 pc to Rs 1217.70 and IndusInd Bank by 1.18 pc to Rs 1460.15.
The Asian market was up as Strait Times rose by 0.17 pc, Hang Sang by 0.74 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 0.49 pc.
