Mumbai, Oct 15 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Tuesday slipped 152.93 pts to settle at 81,820.12 in volatile trade on profit booking by local operators
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) declined 70.60 pts at 25,057.35.
The Sensex was up 128 pts to open at 82,101.86. It was further gained 327 pts at 82,300.44 days high.
In late trade, it erased earlier gains and slid 338 pts at 81,635.57, days low, before closing at 81,820.12, tumbling down 152.93 pts from its previous close.
The NSE registered days high and low at 25,212.05 and 25,008.15 pts respectively.
The stocks that dragged the market were Metal by 1.56 pc followed by Auto by 0.67 pc and Energy by 0.39 pc
The Mid cap rose 0.25 pc and Small cap by 1.05 pc.
In 30 scrips, 9 advanced, while 21 declined.
The losers were Bajaj Finance by 2.47 pc to Rs 7032, Reliance Industries by 2.05 pc to Rs 2689, Tata Steel by 1.58 pc to Rs 155.80, JSW Steel by 1.19 pc to Rs 1000.50 and Tech Mahindra by 1.07 pc to Rs 1674.70.
The gainers were ICICI Bank by 1.95 pc to Rs 1256, Bharti Airtel by 1.26 pc to Rs 1718, Asian Paints by 1.20 pc to Rs 3076.30 and Adani Ports by 0.71 pc to Rs 1420.15.
