Mumbai, Sep 25 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday reached all-time high, breaching 85K level to close 85,169.87 pts, rising 255.83 pts on the strength of Power, Realty and Bankex stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange rose 63.75 pts at 26,004.15.
Volatility was seen during the day, as the Sensex opened on a weak note at 84,836.45, falling 78 pts. It was further lost 171 pts, at 84,743.04, days low.
In late trade, bounced back nearly 333 pts at 85,247.42, days high, before closing at 85,169.87, surging 255.83 pts from its previous close.
The NSE registered days high and low at 26,032.80 and 25,871.35 pts respectively.
The stocks that boosted were Utilities by 0.99 pc, Power by 0.87 pc, Realty by 0.71 pc and Bankex by 0.34 pc.
The Mid cap fell 0.53 pc while Small cap by 0.35 pc.
In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.
The gainers were Powergrid by 3.91 pc to Rs 363.80, Axis Bank by 2.18 pc to Rs 1266.75, NTPC by 1.94 pc to Rs 436.95, Bajaj Finserv by 1.10 pc to Rs 1926.35 and Bajaj Finance by 0.66 pc to Rs 7604.95.
The losers were Tech Mahindra by 2.21 pc to Rs 1601.80, Tata Motors by 1.31 pc to Rs 964.30, Titan by 0.93 pc to Rs 3748 and Kotak Bank by 0.92 pc to Rs 1897.05.
Asian Market witnessed a mixed trend as Hang Seng was up by 0.67 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 1.45 pc.
Strait Times fell 1.10 pc and Kospi by 1.36 pc.
