Mumbai, Mar 4 (UNI) The BSE Sensex continued to slid on Tuesday too, sliding 268 pts to open at 72,817.34 as selling pressure was seen in Auto, Telecommunication and Technology stocks amid weak Asian Market.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) dropped 145 pts at 21,974.45.
Persistent selling by foreign investors kept the market under pressure, as the Sensex registered intra-day highs and lows at 72,946.80 and 72,633.54 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 22,091.05 and 21,964.60 pts respectively.
The Midcap rose 0.34 declined 1.75 pc and Smallcap by 2.60 pc.
In 30 scrips, 12 advanced while 18 declined.
The losers were Nestle India Ltd by 2.64 pc to Rs 2128.10, HCL Technologies by 1.67 pc to Rs 1546.70, Titan 1.45 pc to Rs 3037.85 and Bharti Airtel by 1.44 pc to Rs 1571.70.
The gainers were SBI by 2.91 pc to Rs 715.40, IndusInd Bank by 1.51 pc to Rs 999.10, Zomato by 1.37 pc to Rs 225.10 and Powergrid by 1.29 pc to Rs 255.80.
Asian Market was seen negative, as Strait Times fell by 0.39 pc, Hang Seng by 0.46 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 0.51 pc.
