Sensex down 398.13 pts

Mumbai, Sep 11 (UNI) Snapping a gaining streak of last two sessions, the BSE Sensex on Wednesday dropped 398.13 pts to settle at 81,523.16 on weak Asian Market.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 122.65 pts at 24,918.45.

The equity market remained volatile during the session, as the Sensex opened at 81,928.12, up 7 pts. It was rallied 213 pts at 82,134.95, days high. Later, it was tumbled down 498 pts at 81,423.24, days low, before closing at 81,523.16, sliding 398.13 pts from its last close.

The NSE registered days high and low at 25,113.70 and 24,885.15 pts respectively.

The stocks dragged the market were Oil and Gas by 2.25 pc, Energy by 1.77 pc, Metal by 1.35 pc and Realty by 1.22 pc.

The Mid cap fell 0.52 pc and Small cap by 0.57 pc.

In 30 scrips, 7 advanced while 23 declined.

The losers were Tata Motors by 5.74 pc to Rs 976, SBI by 1.83 pc to Rs 768.30, NTPC by 1.76 pc to Rs 389.70, Adani Ports by 1.58 pc to Rs 1430.20 and L& T by 1.51 pc to Rs 3541.25.

The gainers were Asian paints by 2.18 pc to Rs 3366.15, Bajaj Finance by 1.57 pc to Rs 7353.75, Hind Unilever by 0.58 pc to Rs 2915.20 and Sun Pharma by 0.52 pc to Rs 1846.45.

The Asian Market was also fell asleep Hang Seng was down by 0.73 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 0.16 pc.
