Sensex crashes over 900 pts

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) The bloodbath was witnessed at Dalal Street on Friday, as the BSE Sensex crashed 980 pts at 73,631 in opening session as heavy selling was seen across the board.

Especially, Auto, IT and Technology stocks dropped over 3 per cent.

Investors were seen cautious ahead of crucial GDP figures, even recent statements by US President Donald Trump regarding tariffs too impacted the same.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 304.20 pts at 22,240.85.

The sensex registered intra day high and low at 74,282.43 and 73,579.44 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 22,450.35 and 22,224.10 pts respectively.

The Mid cap declined 2.50 pc and Small cap by 2.57 pc.

In 30 scrips, 4 advanced while 26 declined.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 5.14 pc to Rs 992.55, M& M by 4.95 pc to Rs 2591.10, Tech Mahindra by 4.88 pc to Rs 1509.70 and HCL Technologies by 4 pc to Rs 1565.95.

The gainers were Reliance Industries by 0.42 pc to Rs 1212.15, Axis Bank by 0.19 pc to Rs 1018.20, HDFC Bank by 0.07 pc to Rs 1700.70 and ICICI Bank by 0.01 pc to Rs 1221.60.
