Mumbai, Jan 27 (UNI) The BSE Sensex tanked for another session on Monday, dropping 824.29 pts to settle at 75,366.17 on weak global cues.
Unsatisfactory corporate earnings, foreign outflow, and uncertainty of US trade policy too dragged the equity market on Monday.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 263.05 pts at 22,829.15.
The Sensex opened at 75,700.43, down 490 pts. During the day it slumped 923 pts at 75,267.59, a days low, before closing at 75,366.17, sliding 824.29 pts from its previous close.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 23,007.45 and 22,786.90 pts respectively.
The stocks that dropped were Telecommunications by 3.83 pc, IT by 3.31 pc and Metal by 2.86 pc.
The Mid-cap fell by 2.68 pc and Small-cap by 3.51 pc.
In 30 scrips, 7 advanced while 23 declined.
The losers were HCL Technology by 4.49 pc to Rs 1713, Zomato by 4.47 pc to Rs 206.15, Tech Mahindra by 4.08 pc to Rs 1651.95 and Powergrid by 3.06 pc to Rs 286.70.
The gainers were ICICI Bank by 1.39 pc to Rs 1226.25, Hind Unilever by 0.99 pc to Rs 2392.35, M& M by 0.98 pc to Rs 2828.50 and SBI by 0.54 pc to Rs 748.35.
