Mumbai, Aug 30 (UNI) Maintaining a rally for the ninth straight session, the BSE Sensex on Friday ended at a new peak at 82,365.77, up 231.16 after US economic data alleviated growth worries.
Brisk buying in Reality, Health care and Utilities stocks too boosted the same.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 83.95 pts at 25,235.90.
The day opened on a strong note at 82,637.03, up 503 pts and remained days high figure before closing at 82,365.77, soaring 231.16 pts from its previous close.
It was fell 122 pts at 82,256.02, days low.
The NSE registered days high and low at 25,268.35 and 25,199.40 0 pts respectively.
The stocks that glittered were Realty by 1.57 pc, Health care by 1.44 pc and Utilities by 0.91 pc.
The Mid cap rose 0.51 and Small cap by 0.76 pc.
In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while 7 declined.
The gainers were Bajaj Finance by 2.04 pc to Rs 7207, M & M by 1.82 pc to Rs 2808.10, Bharti Airtel by 1.67 pc to Rs 1592.20 and NTPC by 1.62 pc to Rs 416.65.
The losers were Reliance industries by 0.62 pc to Rs 3022.05, Tech Mahindra by 0.59 pc to Rs 1637.05 and Tata Motors by 0.95 pc to Rs 1109.
