Mumbai, The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday rallied by 212 points 38,426.79 as brisk buying was witnessed in finance, bankex, capital goods, and auto stocks amid strong global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too gained by 61.50 points to 11,402.65.
The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 38,462.20 and 38,238.27 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra-day high and low at 11,408.35 and 11,342.10 points respectively.
The sectoral indices like finance, bankex, capital goods, and auto stocks kept the market firm in early trade.
The gainers were Maruti Suzuki by 2.07 pc to Rs 6960.50, Hero MotoCorp by 1.98 pc to Rs 2661, Kotak Bank by 1.97 pc to Rs 1614.95 and Hind Unilever by 1.51 pc to Rs 2045.15.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 1.98 pc to Rs 385.70, Infosys by 1.74 pc to Rs 771.95, VEDL by 1.42 pc to Rs 145.75 and Tata Motors by 1.21 pc to Rs 126.15.
