New Delhi, July 28 (UNI) A white paper named ‘Closing the Stochastics Resolution Gap’ presented by Fractilla’s CTO (Chief Technology Officer) Chris A. Mack claimed that the semiconductor industry is losing billions of dollars every year, citing the term “stochastic variability” behind it.
‘Stochastic variability’ is the inherent randomness or unpredictable fluctuations in a system or a process. These are not just a set of random events occurring occasionally, but show a constant presence of unpredictable behaviour arising from the probabilistic nature of the underlying mechanism.
The research paper stated that the impact of ‘Stochastics Resolution Gap’ is profound on semiconductor manufacturing. The CTO noted that the variability is causing multibillion-dollar delays in introducing high-volume technologies for manufacturing purposes.
The white paper also stressed the issue of random variants in the semiconductor sector and also provided a solution plan, including methodologies like materials advancements, aware device design, and aware focus control.
