Bhopal: In a tragic incident in the Bilkheria area, a 50-year-old security guard, Rajesh Tripathi, died of suicide by hanging himself at his home in Mahakal City on Thursday night. Tripathi, who worked at a private college, was alone as his family was away in their village in Katni.
The police recovered a suicide note in which Tripathi revealed he had lost 70,000 rupees in gambling. He expressed deep distress over his inability to repay a remaining debt of 11,000 rupees due on January 2nd.
The deceased’s son, Rohit, has leveled serious allegations against a village local named Sudip, claiming he operated a gambling den and coerced his father into debt. According to the family, despite paying back 59,000 rupees, Sudip continued to harass and threaten Tripathi with violence. The police have registered a case and initiated a full investigation.
