Bhopal: An unidentified car struck a security guard on Bhopal’s Airport Road late Tuesday night, leading to his death during treatment on Wednesday morning. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
The deceased, Dayalchand Garhwal (54), son of Nathuram Garhwal, lived in the Patanjali premises at Lalghati. He worked as a security guard at a local marriage garden. According to Kohefiza police, Dayalchand was returning home on foot from his duty when the accident occurred near Manuabhan Tekri.
An unknown vehicle hit him from behind and sped away, leaving him seriously injured on the road. Passersby immediately called an ambulance and helped shift him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Following a post-mortem on Wednesday afternoon, the body was handed over to his family. Dayalchand was the sole breadwinner and is survived by his son and daughter.
Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the vehicle and identify the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.
