SCR to operate 60 pre-Sabarimala special trains to ease pilgrim rush

Hyderabad, Nov 7 (UNI) To manage the anticipated surge of devotees heading to Sabarimala, the South Central Railway (SCR) has announced the operation of 60 Pre-Sabarimala special train services connecting key destinations across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with Kollam in Kerala.
These special trains will run between Machilipatnam, Narsapur, and Charlapalli to Kollam, covering multiple routes via Renigunta, Gudur, and Guntur, among others.
The services will operate from November 2025 to January 2026, ensuring smoother travel for pilgrims during the Sabarimala season, according to a SCR statement.
Train No 07101/07102 Machilipatnam – Kollam – Machilipatnam (10 trips):
Via Gudur and Renigunta, with halts at major stations including Vijayawada, Salem, Erode, Palakkad, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, and Chengannur.
Train No. 07103/07104 Machilipatnam – Kollam – Machilipatnam (10 trips):
Runs through Guntur, Nandyal, Kadapa, and Renigunta, halting at several key stations such as Markapur Road, Erode, and Aluva. (Train No. 07104 will also stop at Diguvamaetta on its return journey.)
Train No. 07105/07106 Narsapur – Kollam – Narsapur (20 trips):
Via Vijayawada, Gudur, and Renigunta, with stops including Bhimavaram, Palakollu, Tiruppur, and Kottayam.
Train No. 07107/07108 Charlapalli – Kollam – Charlapalli (20 trips):
Via Guntur, Gudur, and Renigunta, covering important stations like Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Salem, Erode, and Ernakulam Town.
The SCR stated that these trains aim to provide comfortable and convenient travel options for thousands of devotees embarking on the annual pilgrimage to Sabarimala.
Officials urged passengers to check the detailed schedules and book their tickets in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
