New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) The Supreme Court has issued a notice on a plea challenging a Bombay High Court ruling that entitled sugarcane farmers to the Fair Remunerative Price (FRP) for cane supplied to factories at the start of the crushing season.
A bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta issued the notice, making it returnable within four weeks.
The court directed that a counter affidavit be filed within four weeks, and the respondent will have two weeks thereafter to file a rejoinder affidavit.
The bench further directed that the question of stay will be considered on the next date.
