Mumbai, March 17 (UNI) Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Rawal join forces for an upcoming romantic thriller titled ‘Sundar Poonam’.
Known for his nuanced and unique storytelling in ‘Bhakshak’ and ‘Maalik’, Pulkit is set to helm this romantic thriller and Vikram Malhotra bankrolls the venture under the banner of Abundantia Entertainment, reports Variety India.
Plot details are kept under wraps, but it’s said to be inspired by true events, with both Sanya and Aditya playing markedly different characters from what they’ve played before. The film goes on floors in mid-April and will be shot on a large scale across Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi and Mumbai.
For Aditya, this film marks his third consecutive association with the banner after impactful roles in ‘Daldal’ and ‘Subedaar’. According to insiders, he will portray a wild and intense character this time and has already begun preparations to bring authenticity to the role.
For Sanya, the project signals her second association with the production house after ‘Shakuntala Devi’, which featured Vidya Balan in the lead. She also has a busy release calendar ahead, with David Dhawan’s ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ and Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bandar’ scheduled to arrive in cinemas this year.
Abundantia Entertainment has two Netflix projects lined up for this year: the Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma starrer ‘Family Business’ and ‘Maa Behen’ starring Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri. In addition, the banner is also developing an AI feature film, ‘Chiranjeevi Hanuman: The Eternal’,’ which is set for a theatrical release in 2027.
Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment and Prime Video India have built a strong creative partnership over the years. From web series such as ‘Breathe’,’ ‘Hush Hush’ and ‘Daldal’ to films like ‘Shakuntala Devi’,’ ‘Sherni’,’ ‘Jalsa’ and the recently premiered ‘Subedaar’,’ they have delivered several critically acclaimed and successful projects together.
