Mumbai, Mar 27 (UNI) Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is gearing up to set the silver screen ablaze with action extravaganza ‘Sikandar.’ Releasing on March 30, the film promises to be a complete entertainment package featuring Salman in his signature style. With the advance booking window now open, ticket sales have begun surging.
Number aggregator website Sacnilk reports that ‘Sikandar’ has sold 80,232 tickets by 3 pm, March 26, raking in Rs 2.28 crore in advance sales. Taking into account block bookings, the total jumps to Rs 6.74 crore, hinting at a strong opening weekend.
Salman Khan’s film is going to clash with Mohanlal’s ‘L2: Empuraan’ which released on Thursday. The pan India Malayalam film has surged ahead in advance sales, clocking in 4,89,266 tickets as per Sacnilk, translating to a staggering Rs 9.39 crore in earnings. Meanwhile, with block-booked seats, the numbers stand at 17.6 crores.
Helmed by A.R. Murugadoss and bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film “Sikandar” also features Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Smita Patil and Sathyaraj in key roles.
