Bhopal: A sensational case of a runaway bride has surfaced in Rewa district. Allegedly, Ashok Tiwari, a resident of Judwani, had an arranged marriage with Pooja Tiwari, who lived in a rented room in the same police station area. The girl’s mother had initially discussed the marriage with a man from their village, leading to the finalization of Pooja’s marriage with Ashok Tiwari. On Thursday, the young man’s family conducted Oli rituals, after which the bride and her mother mysteriously disappeared. The victim has filed a complaint at the police station, prompting an investigation.
According to the victim, during the Oli rituals, the girl received saree, jewelry, and other items. However, immediately after obtaining these items, she vanished along with her mother during the night. The next morning, when the young man went in search of them, the house was found empty. Despite extensive efforts to locate the girl, she remained untraceable, leading the young man to file a formal complaint with the police. The victim mentioned that he had secured the house for the girl a few days prior, for which he provided five thousand rupees and ration. The police are actively investigating the matter based on the filed complaint application.
Girls escape with cash from wedding venue
With the beginning of wedding season this month, incidents of robbery from wedding venues have also started coming to fore. In a similar incident, two girls robbed a bag full of cash worth lakhs of rupees from a marriage hall in Jabalpur on Saturday. CCTV footage of the girls leaving the spot has also come to light.
Police are investigating the matter with the help of the CCTV footage.
The incident took place in Gosalpur area of Jabalpur district. A Tilak ceremony was underway at the Hum Log marriage lawn in Sihora when two girls came to the wedding. The girls were elegantly dressed according to the occasion and no one could have guessed that they were criminals instead.
The program of Soni family, residents of Dhanpuri, Shahdol was going on with great pomp when the accused girls got hold of the bag filled with cash and left the venue sneakily.
This action of the girls has been captured in the CCTV camera in which the girls are clearly visible. First, one of the girls left the venue and rushed towards a car. The second girl followed her closely carrying the bag on her back. At present, the police are trying to identify the girls based on the video.
Girl student accused BJP leader of harasment
A BJP Mandal Adhyaksh (local party leader) in Satna has been booked after a girl student accused him of harassment on the pretext of offering her a ride in his vehicle on Saturday.
According to reports, the student was going to college from her village. When, the BJP Mandal Adhyaksh, identified as Kalyan Singh, encountered the student on the way to college and offered her a ride. The student’s family was acquainted with Singh, so there was no initial suspicion. However, during the journey, Singh allegedly began making inappropriate advances and engaging in indecent conversation with the student.
Feeling uncomfortable and offended, the student informed her family about the incident, and they decided to take immediate action. The family contacted the police, providing details of Singh’s actions. The Civil Lines police acted swiftly and registered a case against Singh under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant sections.
Within a short period, the police apprehended Kalyan Singh and seized his Bolero vehicle (MP19 CC9721). The Civil Lines police station in-charge, Yogendra Singh, confirmed the registration of the case and the arrest of the BJP leader.
In response to the serious charges, VD Sharma, the state president of the BJP, has expelled Kalyan Singh from the primary membership of the party. The expulsion comes in light of the case registered under the POCSO Act, indicating the party’s commitment to taking action against any member facing criminal allegations.
