New Delhi, Aug 9 (UNI) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday strongly condemned the incidents of cruelty, like targeted killings, looting, arson and heinous crimes against women belonging to Hindu and other religious minorities and attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh during the movement for regime change in that country in the last few days.
Expressing serious concern over the incidents of violence against Hindus, Buddhists and other minority communities in Bangladesh, the RSS said it expects the interim Government of Bangladesh to take strict action to immediately stop such incidents.
It also said the interim Government must make proper arrangements to protect the lives, property, and honour of the victims.
In a statement, the RSS said: “We request the world community and all political parties in Bharat to stand in solidarity with the persecuted communities like Hindu, Buddhist, etc., in this critical time.”
“As a friendly neighbour, the Government of Bharat is trying to play an able role in this situation in Bangladesh. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh urges the Government to make every effort to ensure the safety of Hindus, Buddhists, etc. in Bangladesh,” said the statement signed by Dattatreya Hosabale, Sarkaryavah, of the RSS.
The statement comes as the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad on Friday reported 205 incidents of persecution of members of the minority communities across 52 districts of the country since Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister and left the country on August 5.
The council said this in an open letter to Muhammad Yunus, who was sworn in as the chief adviser of the interim government on Thursday.
