New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha on Tuesday was adjourned for the day after uproar by the ruling and opposition members over various issues.
Earlier, as soon as the House met for the day at 11 am, the proceedings were adjourned within minutes due to pandemonium in the House. Both sides raised slogans, forcing Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to adjourn the House till 12 noon.
When the House re-convene at 12 noon, the situation remained the same as members of both the ruling party remained adamant with their issues.
Meanwhile, Leader of the House JP Nadda said that there has been a report in the media about George Soares and a senior leader of a political party in the country. Media reports regarding collusion are being described as a serious threat to national security.
Amid uproar by Opposition, Nadda said, “We are responsible towards the common man of the country. The people of the village are asking whether we are in a position to provide them security or not. We want to assure the people that the Modi government is capable of keeping them completely safe, and we will not allow anyone to put the country in danger”.
The pandemonium continued in the House, forcing the Chair to adjourn the House for the day, to meet at 11 am on Wednesday, i.e., December 11, 2024.
